In the Breaking of the Bread

For those who haven't heard, Archbishop Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York (the man who has spearheaded the whole HHS Mandate retaliation for the Catholic Church) has invited President Obama to the Al Smith Dinner (along with Mitt Romney). For many, this came as a shock and have made them question Dolan's "legitimacy", I guess you could say. But for a cautious few, including me, it wasn't a real surprise.
Let us not forget, brothers and sisters in Christ, that Dolan was the one who was working behind the scenes with the Obama Administration to insure that a way out of the HHS Mandate was created for the many, many, MANY Catholic organizations in the United States...and we know how the Administration replied. If it wasn't for Dolan, I doubt the Church (in the US) would be as organized in Her pursuit to ensure our Religious Liberty, as it is.
Let us also not forget, that the Al Smith Dinner is where the two presidential candidates roasted each other in 2008. So it has also become a political tradition.
And finally, let us not forget (I know...a lot to remember), that the Al Smith Dinner is just what it sounds like...a dinner. The two who have been "budding heads" will sit down to a meal, they will sit down and "Break Bread" together. We must think back to the Bible story where Jesus appears to two of His disciples on the road to Emmaus, because they had fled in disbelief after Christ was crucified. So these two dudes were walking and this stranger comes up to them and starts talking to them about the events of the last couple of days, soon they arrive at a village where they will be spending the night, so being the good people that they are, invited the stranger in to share the evening meal with them. When they had settled for the meal, the stranger took the bread and broke it, and at that moment they realized it was Jesus...they realized it was Jesus, by the Breaking of the Bread.
Now, it is more than possible that this topic will come up between Dolan and Obama as the dinner takes place. I have a fantastic feeling about this, because Dolan, as we know, is an avid defender of the faith and exercises his ministry with great courage and zeal. Hopefully Obama will come to an understanding that the Church is NOT going to play games on this issue, that there are people (including me) willing to lay down their lives for the Truth of the Church, and that we will not back away from this fight, all in the Breaking of the Bread.
The journey to Emmaus is coming to an end, the time has come to Break the Bread.

Let us all keep vigilant in the months ahead.

May the Church, aided with the intersession of the Blessed Virgin, continue on its Holy mission and continue to "fight the good fight"!

I disagree. Regarding the road to Emmaus, they were not fleeing, "they were conversing and debating. Jesus himself drew near". Luke 24:15 Jesus comes to those who are seeking Him. Because, they were seeking, “their eyes were open at the breaking of the bread”. Luke 24:31
How will God open Obama's eyes if he is not seeking? You will have to ask God, on behalf of Obama. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
Since time is of the essence, and the dinner is tomorrow night, I would have to agree with Michael Voris see link: http://www.churchmilitant.tv/daily/?today=2012-10-17
